A New Beginning

Lake Tahoe Paddleboarding

Oh boy... Where to start?

First off, Welcome!

This is not my first foray into blogging, but it will be my least motivated effort. Now, for a first post, that might seem a little off-putting to say, but let me clarify why.

My first foray into blogging was a concerted effort to build a brand around a blog and an opinion. I was at a point in my life where a lot of things were changing, and I was trying to pour my experiences into helping others reach their potential. Well, looking back, that is what it was. In reality, I wanted to write a travel blog like so many people I followed, because I love traveling. In reality, I travel a lot, just not enough to dedicate an entire blog to it.

Fast forward a few years... okay, 5 years, and I am in the process of setting up my new website, blog and store to go along with my new business venture, JH Design Co.

I started JH Design Co officially in 2015, but have been involved with woodworking for a very long time. It was a love passed down to me from my grandfather.

Woodworking offers me a reprieve from computers. I get to escape to my shop and work with my hands and my tools to create something tangible. I am not clicking a mouse butting to make a computer halfway across the world do something that a few people care about. I get to use my hands to create a piece of art.

And that is why this blog will not be as frequent or as wide ranging as my previous efforts, as I choose to spend my time in the shop, creating things.

I am going to do my best to post some blogs about things I am learning, projects I am working on and other related woodworking topics I find worthy of writing about. I am sure this will evolve, but for today, that about sums it up.

In lieu of frequent blogs, please follow along with my work on Instagram and Facebook where you will find progress.

I wanted to close this out by saying a very sincere Thank You to anyone reading this. I am truly honored that you took time out of your day to read my ramblings, visit my website and see what I am working on.

If you like my work, please give me a follow on Facebook and/or Instagram, as that is the best way to help us small builders grow our network and grow our business!
